Submission Guidelines
- Please submit electronically via our website.
- Submit either a PDF or MS Word document.
- Use a 12 point font and double space with 1” margins on 8.5 x 11” paper.
- Have author’s name and story title at the top, center page number at the bottom. Please put your email address in the footer as well.
- The payment of the submission fee will be collected electronically through our websitel when the story is uploaded.
- Stories due by 15 OCT 2008 ** CLOSED **
Other considerations
- Open to all writers, regardless of EMS affiliation.
- Stories should not exceed 12,000 words (no minimum, but please tell a full story).
- Feel free to submit multiple times, but please pay a submission fee for each entry.
- Fiction / Non-Fiction? Whichever; tell the story well.
- Don’t be reckless with real people, real places, and real information. Even the best true story has a little embroidery.
- Slander, liable, plagiarism, intolerance, and hatred have no place in a story we read.
- Our lives all have enough real horror. Please do not submit stories to this competition that would be better suited to the genres of horror, fantasy, or erotica. Writing doesn’t have to be “G” rated, but it ought to appeal to either a general reading audience or a general reading audience that understands EMS.
